President B. Joseph White said in a statement: "The Commission will have access to everybody and everything it needs to conduct its work. Any request or directive from the Commission is to be treated as the highest priority and responses are to be timely."Quinn demanded similar cooperation from university trustees.
"If someone decides to get in the way of this commission, they are asking for big trouble from me," the governor said.
The Tribune also published a database listing lawmakers who have made requests for the list. State House Speaker Mike Madigan leads the way with 43 requests made (27 were accepted, 10 rejected, 6 unaccounted for).

While I would agree that in an ideal world, this sort of thing wouldn't happen, I find myself completely unable to get worked up over it. If you're so close to the bubble of getting into a state school that you're going to be bumped by someone with clout, then you were probably doomed either to flunking out after a semester or to dying from alcohol poisoning.
At the very best, you might have hope of graduating with a marketing major.
Of course, one of these morons could end up President of the United States. Time to end Affirmative Action for Politicians.
I firmly believe the statement that we get the president we deserve. We wouldn't have morons as presidents if we didn't vote for them.
