We've gotten word from a reader that something is up down on East Randolph and police have closed the street down. One of our writers has confirmed the street is shut down. We'll pass along more info once we have it.

it was apparently a 'jumper' - i was told both that it was a 25 year old with terminal cancer, and that it was an old man. i was told that it was both at marina tower, and within a few buildings of 200 e randolph. i figured i'd find out more later...
i just looked now for specifics - found nothing.
it seems quite odd in this time of 25/8 news cycles that 14 hours later no major media outlet has picked up on this ?
or perhaps it's been covered and somehow i'm not finding it.
The press is usually very quiet about suicides and suicide attempts, especially public ones. I guess they don't want to encourage copycats or give some depressed person an idea.

if only they'd have adopted the same strategy for school shootings, we'd have not had the last 5 columbine imitators!
perhaps more reasonable / easier to contain, as it's local.
