While Drew Peterson remains jailed on charges of killing third wife Kathleen Savio, WGN AM has gone forward with a mock trial and will air the mock closing arguments this Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. According to WGN:
"The People v. Drew Peterson" features Greg Adamski as moderator, Karen Conti as prosecutor, and lawyer Joseph R. Lopez as Drew Peterson's defense attorney. The broadcast will include the deliberations of the twelve jurors which were selected from the audience by a professional jury consultant and the verdict will be read at the conclusion of the broadcast. This event was intended as an educational exposition, based solely on the facts that have been publicly reported.
Don't feel like waiting til Sunday to hear it? There's already video of the performance available.

Why didn't they pick a lawyer with some talent to be the prosecutor? She was boring.
And this is useful to WGN-AM or any living person how?
A very short list of people I would prefer to never read about again until there are REAL developments:
Drew Peterson
Rod Blagojevich
Everyone: when you hear them on the radio, change the channel. When you see them in stories on television, change the channel. When you see the headlines in the online newspapers, don't click on the stories.
Only we, the news consumers, can make them go away. We can control who is and isn't a celebrity.
You're not the boss of me.
Well of course I'm not. Who would hire you after you set your own house on fire?
That was a long time ago.
Seriously, what WGN exec thought that this is a good idea or something they should invest budget resources into? Aren't media companies working to cut costs? They lay people off and then spend dwindling resources on this?
ummm ... is this cool? could the future defense attorney use this to say it prejudiced the *real* jury? swear to god, if WGN fucks this up for the real prosecutor, i will ... NOT kill them, but be reallllly pissed.
They were only discussing evidence that already is public knowledge, so I don't see this contaminating the waters any more than they're already contaminated. I think this is the least of such concerns with this case. The prosecutor has much larger problems.
Wow, that's...pretty awful. Making me feel anything approaching sympathy for someone like Drew Peterson? I doff my top hat to you WGN.
Look, Peterson has comported himself with all the dignity of a meth head, but this kind of created news doesn't serve the cause of law and order. It's just more desperate and prejudicial grand-standing from a once notable media outlet.
I am surprised that John Williams didn't get dressed up like Perry Mason and do the defense as him.
Was it part of "Mock Trial with Judge Reinhold"?
I think its a (William) "Hung Jury."
"My Name is Judge..."
"I thought his name was Franklin?"
