Rep. Davis for County Board Pres.?

The Sun-Times reports that U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis is forming an exploratory committee to consider a run for Cook County Board president early next year. The field is already crowded with at least six other officials showing interest. The Chicago Reader has a roundup of the potentials, which includes, Ald. Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown, Cook County Assessor Jim Houlihan, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, and of course Todd Stroger. Currently there is no clear candidate for the Republican primary.

Please no. Unless he wishes to answer questions about him, a crown , and Rev. Moon in Washington D.C.

I was polled a few weeks ago on Cook County politics, they asked a lot of questions about Claypool and Preckwinkle, but then also asked what I thought about Davis and if I would vote for him for county board president. I told the poller he probably wouldn't do much better than Stroger.

Dart could capitalize on his media darling status and turn this into something.

Thanks for bringing that up, Nicholas. I was just going to say the same thing!

On March 23, the Dirksen Senate Office Building was the scene of a coronation ceremony for Rev. Sun Myung Moon, owner of the conservative Washington Times newspaper and UPI wire service, who was given a bejeweled crown by Rep. Danny K. Davis, D-Ill. Afterward, Moon told his bipartisan audience of Washington power players he would save everyone on Earth as he had saved the souls of Hitler and Stalin -- the murderous dictators had been born again through him, he said. In a vision, Moon said the reformed Hitler and Stalin vouched for him, calling him "none other than humanity's Savior, Messiah, Returning Lord and True Parent."

Heck...the way things are shaping up, Sideshow Bob could run as a republican and win. Democrats in Cook County have shown their incompetence time and time again. Time to put some adults on the board. The old one is broke and embarrassing.

The problem for them this time around is the internet. The flow of information makes for more informed voters that might not be aware of how incompetent their elected officials really are.

With all of the troubles state wide, people are starting to pay more attention. Politicians have to be cringing at the thought of an informed electorate. The only politician not worried is Daley. Apparently he knows of nothing going on outside his office unless it is Olympics related.

Davis seems to want to be anything but Congressman.

He wanted Obama's senate seat, he wanted Cook County seat when old man Stroger died, he wanted to be Mayor, he ran for County treasurer....

The people in his district should think twice about re-electing him, he really does not want the job.
