We were excited to go out and actually see the Counting Crows live - if only to watch the bouncing dreads of Adam Duritz in person and marvel at their plasticine uniformity.
We left the Taste concert Saturday night excited about something entirely well. Musical: Muddy Waters, covered live by California-based band Augustana. While they're not likely to give up cashing in on their catalog of grungy tour-pretty boy-emo music ("Boston," "Sweet and Low") for a white boy take on poverty-driven, soulful blues - the jams did at least give 'em some musical street cred.

Where did you take these shots from? They would only let me stay down front for about 10 seconds, but I got a few decent ones.
This was a really good show. I thought Augustana was going to be a bit emo, but was surprised by their performance.
We're press... so we're in the photo pit by the stage. My fave quote was the Augustana lead singer, "Enough of that emo bullshit, how about something a bit more like real music."
Ya that was great.
I thought you might be down there. I should have made a fake badge.
"and marvel at their plasticine uniformity"
The Crow's plasticine uniformity? Or that of Adam's hair? Either way you're dead on.
I believe I was referencing the hair. I've never seen dreads so ... carefully maintained? It's like a wig. A bouncy, Jewish wig.
Sideshow Bob Dylan has admitted in interviews that those are extensions.
