When times are tough and discretionary spending is non-existent, small business owners have to put on their thinking caps and get creative. Marie's Golden Cue, a pool hall on Montrose Ave. in Albany Park, mined the depths of innuendo to come up with this steaming pile of awesomeness.
While we can't say for sure that it's gotten more people into the doors or anything, we at Chicagoist applaud the effort. Consider this a gauntlet dropped to anyone else with a sign that ain't doin' nothing - if your profits are down, what have you got to lose?
Terrible spur-of-the-moment cellphone photo by yours truly.

Late to the game, people! This has been all over the internets already.
some people have better things to do than comb the internet all day
Nobody I know.
I saw that sign a couple days ago. Had a good laugh. I knew it wouldn't be long before it leapt to the interwebs.
This sign was featured here in the flickr pool a few months ago, well chloeloe's photo was.
Sorry Karl, Spencer Tweedy beat you to this one...
I fail (get it?) to understand why the sign is a "fail," though.
Does anyone really think that whoever put this up doesn't get the joke? Seriously? Whoever this Tweedy is may have been first, but he/she/it fails (get it?) to celebrate the humor of it.
Besides: My headline is way better.
And yes, this isn't the first time this has been on the internets. It doesn't make it any less funny to me, however.
