The unions aren't the only folks facing a deadline; Chicagoans in need of a city sticker have through midnight tomorrow to get in on the act and grab their new city sticker to avoid late fees ($40) and tickets ($120). Our pal The Parking Ticket Geek has a suggestion or two for those of you who have waited til the final few hours. Of course, this year's sticker not only features the design (seen above) by Denise Ferguson, recent graduate of Corliss High School, but it also combines the need for a vehicle sticker and a residential sticker in one, easy-to-display multi-purpose sticker.

Extra, Extra

If you ordered one but haven't received it yet:
from the city clerk:
Enforcement of your Chicago city sticker begins on July 16th. If you are not going to be able to apply your city sticker prior to that date, more than likely, you will be receiving a ticket. To avoid that outcome, you can pick up a free temporary sticker at City Hall, Room 107 - data services (in the basement, Washington St. entrance side). We are open M-F from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. We also can mail the free temporary sticker to you if you'd prefer.
If you would like us to mail the sticker, please provide your full mailing address and vehicle information so we can confirm it with our database.
At this late date, I strongly encourage you to pick up your free temporary sticker.
