Summer travel season is still in full swing and Wired magazine released its "100 Geeky Places To Take Your Kids This Summer" list. Chicago's very own Adler Planetarium starts the list, the proposed home to a controversial projector. Also making the list? Lincoln Park Zoo and the Shedd Aquarium.
Strangely missing from the list? The Field Museum (Pirates!) and The Museum of Science & Industry (Harry Potter!) which have exhibits that are way more "geeky" than any of the three places that are on the list.
What are some of the other attractions that Wired missed? (It should go without saying that we heartily endorse all the places mentioned in this post.)

The IMSS (and if you know what that is already, you pass the geek test with flying colors)
IMSS
isn't that in the vicinity of the Chicago History Museum? Two birds, one stone...
i thought that's what it stood for. been meaning to go there for a while.
The list is alphabetical, so Adler being #1 doesn't mean much.
I was hoping i wasn't the only one that noticed that.
Oof. Nice catch.
