Sentence In Salerno Death
Scott Hirschey was sentenced to three years probation today in connection with the January 2008 death of of WBBM-Ch. 2 anchor Randy Salerno. Hirschey was driving the snowmobile Salerno was riding when it crashed, injuring Hirschey and killing Salerno. Hirschey had originally pleaded not guilty to driving the snowmobile under the influence of alcohol before the plea deal; authorities reported Hirschey's BAC was twice the 0.08 legal limit of Wisconsin where the accident took place.
