Faced with mounting opposition from both Republicans and so-called "Blue Dog" Democrats on the health care debate, President Obama made a swing through the Midwest, including a pit stop in Chicago, yesterday to drum up support for health care reform.

Obama told a group of donors that often misleading information opposing reform can be tiring, specifically "(t)he scare tactics and the special interest and the lobbyists, and, I'll be honest with you, the incapacity for a sustained focus on the part of the media on the facts and the arguments." He followed that up with appearances at two DNC fundraisers in town. Responding to a comment from South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint that the GOP could "break" Obama by debating helath care reform, the President said, "Let me tell you something. I'm from Chicago. I don't break." [Sun-Times]
