Sox Rally Past Tribe
Trailing 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth, the White Sox posted seven unanswered runs to defeat the Cleveland Indians 8-5 on Saturday. The comeback campaign was launched with Jim Thome's monstrous, two-run shot to center field, followed by Carlos Quentin's game-tying double three batters later. Gordon Beckham gave Chicago the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth, and both Chris Getz and Paul Konerko helped tack on insurance runs down the line. D.J. Carrasco served as the fire stop on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings of scoreless middle relief after a brief appearance by starter Carlos Torres. The victory, combined with Detroit's loss to Minnesota, bumps Chicago up a game in the standings. The Sox and the Indians will settle the series at 1:05 this afternoon.

Cubs Edge Rockies
The Cubs reactivated their bats with a 6-5 win over the Colorado Rockies Saturday evening. Kosuke Fukudome jump started the offense with a run-scoring double in the fourth, and Ryan Dempster contributed an RBI walk before the inning was over. Dempster transferred the two-run lead back to the Rockies in the bottom of the inning, however, surrendering four runs (two earned) on four hits and a wild pitch. The Cubs' starter managed to tough it out for two more innings, eventually earning the win, while the offense got back to work. Fukudome and Derrek Lee each mashed solo shots for Chicago, and Ryan Theriot and Milton Bradley combined for a pair of RBI in the sixth. Add to that a hold by Carlos Marmol and a save by Kevin Gregg, and the Cubs evened the four-game series at 1-1. On a down note for the North Siders, Aramis Ramirez was pulled in the fifth inning after experiencing soreness in his previously dislocated left shoulder and will sit out today's contest. Game three gets underway at 2:10.
