Lollapalooza wasn't the only big event going on this weekend. It was also the annual Chicago Comic-Con. And judging by these pictures, it was an incredible, surreal time for all involved. A miniature Darth Vader? Check. Billy Dee Williams signing a bottle of Colt 45? Check. More comic costumes than you could ever dream of? Check. And there's plenty more where these came from.

Ok, posing as "the mads" from MST3K...FANTASTIC.
I love the guys who have a costume that is kind of based on the movie (a purple Boba Fett or a green Stormtrooper) cause they always have some elaborate backstory to share.
Fun stuff.
Unless the Lolla '10 lineup blows me away, I'm skipping it for Comic-Con next year.
No need to skip out on lolla, the C2E2 event is in April and it's going to be MASSIVE. All the major publishers are coming and it's going to be at McCormick place to boot. A bit less of a pain than Rosemont.
This is their first year in Chicago and they're taking direct aim at the Wizard show, which has been kind of crap to indy creators and local stores over the years.
So this is different from the Windy City Comic Con that happens in September???? I missed this one :( but I'll be at the other one, which I think is more lowkey.
NEXT YEAR though.
Correct, this is the Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con, different than the Windy City Comic Con
Man, if this is even a quarter as fun as San Diego, then I have to get there next year.
surprised at the amount of Chicagoist coverage. really, it was...okay. i'm not into Marvel, DC or Star Wars, though, so i wasn't geeking out every five feet.
I've grown to love this nerdy bastards (or is it "basterds"?) There's something about seeing a (collectively) overweight Justice League that warms my heart.
I hope some of those fellas got laid for all the dedication they put into their costumes.
No slave Leia? FAIL.
