The Internets. It can be an amazing place full of joy and wonder, but it can also be a dark place. One man is learning the price you play when you mess with that dark side. He's been sued by an ex-girlfriend after he posted nude photos of her on the explicit website Ex Girlfriend Pictures, a website that proclaims its content as, "submitted photos of nude ex-girlfriends and former wives" (and a site we're not going to link here because we'll be damned if we're responsible for anyone getting fired, but if you know how to use Google...). The two - Jessica Voth and Miles Marsh - dated for two-and-a-half years starting in the fall of 2003 when both were students at Lake Forest College. During that time, it seems Marsh, according to the lawsuit [via the Trib], "after continued and repeated requests by Marsh, [Voth] begrudgingly allowed [Marsh] to take intimate and personal photographs of [Voth]."
Lo and behold, nothing lasts forever and the two broke up but Marsh promised he would destroy the offending material. In August 2007, Voth confronted Marsh about the photos, suspecting he didn't destroy them as promised; he said he hadn't but he'd keep them private. Little did Voth know, in October 2006, Marsh had already posted them to the World Wide Web. Over Thanksgiving last year, an old high school friend of Voth's called to tell her he had spotted the photos on the internet (via another friend who had allegedly stumbled across them). Long story short, when Voth found out the photos were posted for anyone and everyone to see, she understandably freaked out. Marsh has been charged with "Invasion of Privacy" and "Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress."

not defending the scumbag but a notice to all women: NEVER LET A MAN TAKE NUDE PICS. invariably they will get out!
"Stumbled across the photos..." Yeah, right.
In my opinion, the one who has the most right to file a lawsuit would be the little kid whose idiotic father posted a video of him coming out of anesthesia from a visit to the dentist.
That was funny, no doubt, but it should have stayed in the family vault.
Does nobody value privacy anymore??????
The kind of parent who would do that to his own little kid deserves to get sued.
And when are people going to learn? Don't let your SI's take nude pics of you!!! Sheesh.
So if he distorted her face on the photos, would that still be grounds for a lawsuit? Not going to look for the photos, but if on one can positivly identify her, can they still sue?
And no, this isn't for future reference, ya pervs... (lol)
Who else's first thought was "so let's see 'em"? =D

See "Streisand Effect":

Now, I’m no fancy big city lawyer, but calling something an invasion of privacy or intentional infliction of emotional distress when she willingly posed nude (albeit hesitantly) for someone she seemed to already suspect of being a creep is a bit of a stretch. Unless he posted personal information about her or she had some incredibly unique feature (my guess: a tramp stamp of a butterfly) the photos would be awash in a sea of similar ones giving her the option to deny them.
Nudity: get over it, America.

Hi there:
I edited your recent comment re: ex-gf nude pictures to take out the direct link to the website. I rarely edit comments, but I'd just prefer not have a NSFW link posted on the site regardless of it's in a post or a comment.
Just a head's up.

There are NSFW links in Chicagoist posts:

Escorts are ok but nude women aren't?
Neither of those sites lead directly to sites featuring nudity as opposed to your link.
I give it no less than 10 years before everyone (16+) has, at least, one nude picture on the internet.
Andy Warhol revisited...
Unfortunately since she allowed him to take the photos, he is the rightful owner of the photos and can legally do what he wants with them.
