One of the city's last two Crunch Gym locations - at 38 E. Grand Ave. - is shutting its doors, possibly as early as September 8. The exact date of the closing depends on a ruling from a New York bankruptcy court. The gym's owners - AGT Crunch - has closed three other locations since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May. One location - 939 W. North Ave. - remains open. For now. [Crain's]

I know that's a prime location, but isn't this a little bit high? Any real estate people care to chime in?
I'm going tonight to cancel my month to month membership. Will let you all know how it goes... I've been really happy with the gym, but have heard bad stories about them.
I cancelled my membership last night. I stopped in the gym, it took about 60 seconds. They told me they require a 30-day notice for cancellation, so I'll be a member through September 30. I paid for the last month up front when I signed up, so I should not be charged for anything more. I don't know what happens if they close before the end of September.
Ah, yes ... reminds me of the great Cheetah Gym controversy of '07. Think you'll top 400 comments on this one?
I'm just adding to the comment count here, folks....
No.
But where will all chads and trixies go to meet their future spouses?!
Hmm, maybe people will realize that classes like "pole-lates," "1-minute body sculpt" and "urban street-fighting" combined with super shiny isolation machines aren't actually the best form of exercise.
