Goose Island Clybourn's "Ham" Burger wih Tallgrass Beef, duck "ham", pork rillettes and a fried egg. Christ, I still have nightmares of trying to finish this.
Who would've thunk that burgers would be one of the year's big food fads, although we should have seen it coming with "the Cheeseburger Show?" (No offense, Pang).
Chicago Magazine's Jeff Ruby put together a list of his 30 favorite burgers for its September issue. ruby also went beyond the call of duty and actually ate all 30. This led to his companion article about how eating all those burgers made him stupid. Or it could be menopause.

I'm sure Kuma's will win the poll results because everyone is in hype with that place.
go Top Notch!
I can't believe Hackney's isn't on Ruby's list
Chuck, I managed to eat that entire Goose Island burger.
And the fries.
I'm a small and skinny little person, too. Along with some Pere Jacques even. I did regret it for about an hour but then I had a popsicle and felt better.
Well bully to you (& long time no see)! My problem in trying to finish that burger was ordering the charcuterie plate and pork sliders before it. But that's kind of how it goes sometimes and also explains why I bike a lot in order to not weigh in at over 300 lbs.
Speaking of Kevin Pang, did you see that he was on A Hamburger Today being grilled (pun intended) on his burger preferences?
Also, hi and yes it's been a while!
I haven't had one in forever, but I remember the burgers at Twisted Spoke being pretty tasty, although the two bloody marys I'd usually have beforehand might have influenced that impression.
Mrs Murphy's pub burger is pretty fantastic. Just had one an hour ago and it was awesome.
Jury's, The Counter, Tavish and Park Grill are other quality burger places.
In the Loop, I like Patty Burger over Marc Burger or Epic Burger.
The Slinger at Diner Grill or cheeseburger at Muskies is good after drinks or late at night.
In the burbs, I like Charlie Beinlich's.
Patty Burger? Really?
kuma's is vastly overrated. Decent, yes...the best? Only to people that havent been anywhere else.
anyone...literally anyone...can put a bunch of crazy crap on a burger, give it a name that doesn't really make sense in relation to the burger toppings and become popular.
I strongly recommend the burger at HotChocolate 1747 N Damen. The fried egg on top is optional.
