We’re gonna cut to the chase on this one. Watch this - if your time is limited, skip to the 3 minute mark.

WTF was that, you ask? A little slice of amazing by French performance troupe/wizards Ilotopie, the entirety of which you should check out tonight or tomorrow at Navy Pier - or off Navy Pier, to be more accurate. The show, titled Water Fools (Fous de Bassin) is being presented FOR FREE by Chicago Shakespeare Theater, as long as you’re willing to stand for 50 minutes. (Bleacher seats are sold out.)

Chicago Shakes has dealt with some unusual logistical issues getting this show into production, a process you can read more about here. The last hurdle, approval from the Department of Homeland Security, was cleared right in the nick of time (hooray bureaucracy!), and we are ridiculously excited. However, we just got word that weather-related technical setbacks may force tonight’s show to be postponed until Sunday. Check Chicago Shakespeare’s website for updates - they plan to make a tentative call early this afternoon.

If the show is on, get there early, because we’re not saving you a spot.

Water Fools (Fous de Bassin), August 21-22, sundown (9:15pm), off the east end of Navy Pier (rain date August 23)

**Update!**
Tonight's performance has been canceled due to safety and technical concerns related to weather. There will now be a performance on Sunday, August 23, at 9:15pm.
