Cops At Right Place, Right Time for Robbery Arrests

2009_29_08_robbery.jpg Narcotics police arrested two men suspected of shooting a man in his 30s during a robbery Friday afternoon on the South Side.

The two suspects, Miles Kent, 19, and a 16-year-old, were "charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery with a firearm," according to Chicago Breaking News.

Police were around the 8700 block of South Yates Boulevard on a narcotics investigation when they heard gunshots, the report said. They then saw a man running away from car carrying the two suspects. The suspects abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot, but were shortly apprehended.

The victim had been robbed of two cellphones, a set of keys and $200; he also suffered two gunshot wounds to the legs. Police found ".45-caliber handgun and heroin with a street value of $90," according to the report.
