Another Number One Ranking

The accolades keep rolling in. Not only are we Forbes' most stressful American city, but now the National Motorists Association have named Chicago as the worst city to drive through on Labor Day weekend. We...don't have much to argue with there. Seems like there are other cities that probably give us a run for the money (L.A., Atlanta) but the NMA has two specific reasons they outline: shady red light cameras and the parking meter fiasco.

what an oddly specific topic to have a poll about.

I'd like to know which city is the best for watching opera on a sunday afternoon in march. Can someone hook me up?

Actually driving here on Labor Day weekend is great because in most places, people head out of town so other than the usual "hot spots" (North Ave. and Clybourn, etc.) driving is fine.

Also what does the parking meter situation have to do wth driving on Labor Day. It might make us the worse city to PARK in on Labor Day, but driving and parking are two different things.

It's going to be the worst place to drive on Labor Day because Mayorolissimo Daley is allowing Oprah to block all the streets downtown!

I'm voting for Chicago to be the BEST big city to be stressed out in. And the drivers who can't drive gotta go anyway.

I can't imagine DC wouldn't top the list. A confusing labyrinth full of Maryland drivers? No thanks.

I'll give you the confusing labyrinth, but how are Maryland drivers different than Illinois drivers?

No one holds a candle to them when it comes to bad driving.

I used to live there...it's not that bad. They're just a bit skittish when the weather gets wet, but when that happens, they just pull over to the side of the road and wait til the rain stops.
They also have bins of salt on every corner that motorists can use when it gets slippery and they get stuck.
So, to me, these precautions make it safer.
Illinois ranks in the top ten for road accidents, btw.

illinois also ranks in the top ten for population, no so suprise about the accident ranking.
