Lingerie Football Underway

2009-09-07-bliss.jpg The Chicago Bliss, your boyfriend’s new obsession, kicked off their first season as part of the Lingerie Football League with a 29-19 victory over the Miami Caliente at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates on Friday. Described as, "some of Chicago's most beautiful and athletic women competing in 7-on-7 full-contact tackle football on Friday nights," the game on Friday was one of the Bliss’ two home games of their four-game season. The league also includes such teams as the New York Majesty, San Diego Seduction, Seattle Mist, and the Philadelphia Passion.

"We make no bones about it," said Stephon McMillen, media director with the LFL in Los Angeles, in an interview with the Chicago Tribune. "We have to be able to pull fans into the arena so we looked for players that are beautiful, but they also have to be athletic and definitely have confidence."

While most may not take the Bliss serious with their skimpy outfits and pin-up style press photos, former Bears coach, Mike Ditka, recently took an equity stake in the league, increasing its credibility. Tickets ranging from $8 to $63 can be purchased for the next Bliss home game on December 18 against the Philadelphia Passion by visiting the Sears Centre box office or through Ticketmaster.
