US cities will lag in carpooling unless the gasoline tax is raised considerably.
As for Chicago, we have a suburbia and exurbia that is larger than that of other cities, with endless expressways and jobs spread all over the place. We will always stink at carpooling. And hey, let's not build that goofy Prairie Parkway.
