Members of the Crewe of the Archangel came decked out in authentic pirate garb. (Marcus Gilmer/Chicagoist)
Saturday was "Talk Like A Pirate Day" and the Field Museum celebrated with festivities for the youngsters in an effort to show them the Pirate Way and to help promote their Real Pirates exhibit, closing soon (so get ye to the Field Museum).

Another played out meme..
Perhaps some of you were at your suburban drone home with your 2.25 kids, 1 dog, soccer mom and Nascar dad, slowing dying a boring death from a pedestrian life. We were there, and wandering about the South Loop, in our pirate regalia (yarggh!).
I'm so embarrassed! That's *exactly* where I was!
Actually, after going on a shopping cart race, I was in my "hip" urban condo, dressed like a zombie pirate, cooking cupcakes, sampling artisanal bacons and blogging about it!
So dressing up as a pirate on a single day along with hundreds(?) of other people means you're not living a "pedestrian life"? Sounds to me like you're over compensating for the other 364 days of shit that you live each year. :-)
