Woman Arrested For CTA Punchings

2009_09_21_thunderdome.jpg If it's not horse-punchers or amped up firefighters, it's something else. A 39-year-old woman was arrested after turning the Belmont Red Line platform into her personal Thunderdome. What happened? She said something nasty to two men who weren't too pleased and when they showed their displeasure, she bopped them both. But the Sun-Times describes the incident so much more... clinically.

The incident occurred at 6:50 p.m. at the CTA’s Belmont Red Line L station when [Nicole] Patrick allegedly called two men who were standing together on the platform “c----,’’ according to police.

Police said one of the men “took exception” to the statement and she punched him in the chest and scratched his neck. The other man came to his aid and she allegedly punched him in the nose, giving him a bloody nose, police said.

In the "no kidding" category for the story, police said Patrick was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

I was there! I didn't see the fight itself, but I saw how it all started. She was getting on the brown line and she was on her cellphone saying something about getting to Lawrence. This couple yelled at her noooooooo wrong train, it's the wrong one! She listens and then they go: wait, did you want to get to Lawrence and Kimball? Then she starts yelling that they're dumb Mother F****ers and how it was her right! She then walked away over to another group of people, where i'm assuming the craziness went down. She was yelling something about being a woman and he was a man. Then she started demanding badges from someone. Then I heard a scuffle. I got on the train after that. She was crazy though.

Why do they call Belmont the "Red Line L station"? Brown and Purple (during rush) both stop at the same station. Never makes sense to me.

Ahhh, the '80s. This was so common back then 'round Belmont & Clark that nobody cared.
