Windy City Rollers Storm Through Regional Tournament

The Windy City Rollers' All Stars were in Minneapolis last weekend, taking part in the WFTDA's North Central Regional Tournament, the Brawl of America. And guess who came home champs? The Rollers had little trouble dispensing of the host team, the Minnesota Rollergirls 155-25 in the quarterfinals before easing past Cincinnati 163-36 in the semis. Then it was on to the finals where they had no trouble taking care of Madison 150-56. As the top ranked team from the regionals, the Rollers are headed to Nationals in Philadelphia this November. The Rollers are next at home Saturday, October 17 to take on Portland's Rose City Rollers.

And in case you missed it, check out some of the Rollers joining actress Drew Barrymore - promoting her new roller derby film (from the director's chair) Whip It starring Barrymore, Ellen Page, and Kristen Wiig - to sing the 7th Inning Stretch at a Cubs-Brewers game last week.

Is someone on Chicagoist nailing or wanting to nail a Windy City Roller? No one is covering roller derby as much as Chicagoist

We cover the White Sox and Cubs after every game, so why not cover the Rollers after every bout? It's once a month, twice at most.

This commenter wants to nail several of the Windy City Rollers. =D

And this editor is in love with at least half the league!
