No Olympics Morning Diversion

This just in! Exclusive footage of Mayor Daley just after the announcement!

Actually, to be honest, I had finally gotten to the point where I was O.K. with getting the games, and am a little bummed we lost out. So even I feel a little bad for Daley right now...

That is so sad! I didn't even want the Olympics, but now I feel like a loser. :(

I know "I feel bad for Daley" is partly in jest, but we should all have cold hearts toward the King of Chicago. He's a big boy, and he embarked upon this adventure without really any warning or consultation with voters or their supposed representatives, the alderman. Close your hearts to pity on this matter. He made his decision, and he deserves to live with the aftermath. FYI: He certainly will try to appeal to residents' emotions, to make them feel sorry for him at an upcoming press conference. Don't fall for that old trick, tried by nearly every king and dictator and demagogue in history.

Nice video, though.

I've heard whispers that the 49-0 aldermanic vote was achieved through mayoral brute force. Perhaps now that this has blown up like an Acme cigar, they'll be more likely to push back. He has no political leverage at all anymore.

Yeah, but the alderman are pretty much worthless tools, too.

I actuall feel bad for the citizens who wanted it, but not for Daley. I'll never be swayed from the belief that this was partially another ego/legacy boost attempt by him.

I don't! Why the fuck should we feel bad for him? It feels great to see him fail. Are there any videos of his reaction to the vote?

I just saw the banner on the bottom of the screen on 32. It stated that daley can't be found....He probably pissed on himself.

That's going to be a LOOOOOONG flight home from Denmark.

Wait, so Daley is really a Bluth? That explains everything.

Considering what the Olympics would have meant to Chicago, I prefer to think of Daley as the Monorail salesman from that episode of the Simpsons.

you people need to stifle, stifle yerselves. Remember, the old man's proclamation that,'the policeman isn't there to create disorder, the policeman is there to preserve disorder.' Behold the reigning kingpin and marvel at his keen, incisive governing style: '...so you keep raising these taxes, and all of a sudden the business community says, 'Why are we here? We can go someplace else and use their phones.' That's one of the problems that directly affects the business community.'
Stifle yerselves, indeed.

No, this is the REAL FOOTAGE of Daley's reaction after Chicago lost the vote.

... should we consider recalling Oprah?!....
