And the merged enterprise will be renamed "Bam!"
this is bad. no more healthy competition between the large liquor stores. it's hard enough to find some products already. now the market will be even more homogenized. consumers could be losing even more variety with this deal.
This is terrible. It's only a matter of time before Binstein and Wirtz are busted for price fixing.
Lose variety? Have you been to Binny's? Their beer selection is huge and I'd say their wine selection is nothing to scoff at.
I am pretty happy with the variety at Binny's, the one in the south loop blows my mind actually. I am all for healthy competition, but considering Illinois allows for the sale of Liquor and Wine in grocery stores, I find the prices to be pretty decent.
