Best Dining Bet for Starving Artists

The Dow may have jumped over 10,000 points but budget-conscious Chicagoans are not buying into any talk of "recovery." Understanding our love for good local food and an affinity for the beauty of our city, the Bluebird has teamed-up with local artists Mary Livoni and John Coyle Steinbrunner to create Sunday dinners dedicated to painting a picture of our great city in good times and during this downturn.

The event launches this Saturday, October 18th and the series will run on October 25, November 8 and 15th. This weeks topic “Picture This Like This: Depicting a World in Recession.”. For the starving artist price of $30 you will enjoy a family-style dinner with wine and beer pairings and artists discussion.

Nosh on this: goat's milk cheddar mac and cheese; grilled, brined and smoked pork chop with cider and white wine-braised pears; pan seared whitefish with tomato and fennel broth and a smattering of yummy flatbreads.

Check out the Bluebird's website to secure more information and reservations.
