Wine Rack Staple: Graham Beck Brut Rosé Vintage 2007

2009_10_WWS1.jpg Pop-open the bubbly - It’s Wednesday! The holiday season is upon us and in typical true-blooded American fashion we begin the season of over-indulgence - more food, more booze, larger waistlines. We also take the opportunity to pick up an extra bottle of something special - maybe a nice bottle of bubbly.

But why wait for a special occasion to pop open something that sparkles? Cava, Prosecco, Champagne, any sparkling wine can match any occasion or just a Wednesday night.

Graham Beck Brut Rosé Vintage 2007

One of the few stars pulled from South Africa, this pretty pink sparkling wine is commonplace in my house. We pop the cork for fried chicken, cocktail-creation, ceviche or “let’s just open a bottle of wine” time. This would be a great bottle to pick-up for Thanksgiving, after all Rosé is the world’s most versatile wine and you will look very-fancy bringing a bottle that sparkles.

What you get out of this bottle?

Made with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, this blend offers big bubbles, strawberry/cranberry flavors with a bit a of crisp apple zing on the back. Think of it as a cross between a Grenache rose, Vino Verde and your traditional Blanc de Blancs.
