The White House today released the official portrait of the First Family. The photo was taken on September 1, 2009 by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz in the Green Room of the White House. As expected, their family portrait is waaaaaaay better than any of the ones the Chicagoist family has taken at the K-Mart portrait study over the years.

"Mah-leah-ah, Sash-sha!"

I still LOL when I think about how that guy said their names at the inauguration.

Odd that Sasha is positioned with a picture frame right behind her head. That's one of the first lessons photographers learn--avoiding distracting backgrounds, particularly when a distracting object appears right behind a person's head. Obviously this isn't as bad as a cone shape appearing behind Uncle Ted's head in the family Christmas photo, but still, I expect better from Lebovitz.

I'm sure Leibovitz is far too preoccupied with her shrinking bank account right now.
