Jens Lekman Sold Out, Still Hope For The Empty-handed

It’s no surprise Jens Lekman’s NYE Empty Bottle show sold out only moments after tickets hit the box office. Our Swedish sweetheart’s melancholy lyrics, warm yet wavering croon, and gentle string and horn melodies along with the venue’s intimate ambiance will make for a magical midnight kiss.

If you’re really desperate, you could hunt down tickets on Craigslist for upwards of $90 - triple the TicketWeb price, or you might choose the risky and expensive sidewalk scalper option. But for those of us who live on a budget and abide by the law, Lekman scheduled two extra performances with the Empty Bottle for January 1 and 2.

Though you won’t bring in the New Year with Jens, these 2010 shows have their benefits: Tickets are only $20 and still available, and you can still swoon to the whimsical sounds of Jens without, perhaps, a dangerously drunk and overbearing crowd. But don’t wait to buy your tickets at the door. They’re likely to “vanish with the setting sun,” and you’ll be left empty-handed.
