1/2 Percent Roll Back Approved By Cook County Board

2009_11_cook_county_logo_again.jpg With a new law in effect limiting the number of votes required to override a Stroger veto, the Cook County Commissioners took another crack at rolling back the sales tax increase by one percent has fallen short. According to a tweet from Com. Tony Peraica, the votes were 10 NOs, 6 YESes, and 1 absent. In another tweet, Peraica identified the YES votes as himself and Commissioners Claypool, Gorman, Goslin, Schneider, and Silvestri.

According to Peraica, the commissioners are currently debating and preparing for a roll call vote on a 1/2 percent rollback. We'll update as soon as we hear anything regarding results of that vote.

Update: Peraica reports the 1/2 percent roll back has been approved by a 12-5 vote.

Clearly this is racism. Countdown to Spook reminding us all of this in 10..9...

Noooooooope, I'm not going to argue with you nevins because as Mark Twain said

"Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference"

Which is also why we aren't going to argue with you any more, Spook!

now would that perchance be the proverbial "we", and if not, do I have your word that?

Anyone who hates minorities would be in favor of the sales tax being as high as possible, because it is one of the few taxes poor minorities actually have to pay.

So the reality is Stoger's hatred of blacks is the reason for the sales tax hike.
