It's been well-established that New Glarus Brewing does not distribute outside of Wisconsin, although you can find their brews at some bars and liquor stores around town if you ask nicely and know where to look.
We were reminded of that after reading this story about a New York bar that was busted for allegedly serving Spotted Cow. Which just goes to show that New Glarus's reputation precedes itself.

The wife and I took a weekend trip to New Glarus this Spirng. It is a transplanted Swiss village and very nice. The New Glarus beer is great with limburger and onion sandwiches -- a wonderful dining experience!
We know.
Don't stop my New Glarus supply!
Someone put a call in to The Bandit...
Yea the girlfriend and I went up there this past summer for camping and a trip to the new hilltop brewery. The beer is amazing. They have so many incredible beers beyond the spotted cow. Some only sold out of the gift shop! Go up there and support the awesomeness of New Glarus!
As for woodman's mention in the TO article, amazing. Huge beer selection. Right off 94, stop by if you ever head that way. i always do!
My mother lives 15 minutes west of New Glarus in South Wayne, so I try to make a pit stop whenever I'm up to visit to load up the trunk of whatever rental car I have and speed back to Chicago like a bootlegger.
Unfortunately the brewery is closed tomorrow.
I live about fifteen minutes south of Lake Geneva, so I load up my minivan like a bootlegger fairly frequently, too. I love their hop hearty, as well as the Black Wheat.
I'm partial to their Imperial Saison. It's a good lady's beer.
I hope you know that you liked to a story that's over two years old. Bell's is readily available in IL.
