Unfortunately, with advancements in technology come those who exploit it and kids who don't realize the consequences of their actions. Police in Plainfield are trying to sort out a scandal that all began when a 16-year-old female student sent a nude photo of herself to a male student. As tends to happen, the photo quickly got forwarded on to other students. The Tribune reports nine phones have been seized and the students who helped originally spread the photo have been questioned. Since the girl in the photo is a minor, viewing it is considered viewing child pornography but he Will County state's attorney's office told the Tribune that cases like this one involving students are usually handled through juvenile probation.

While no one has been charged in the incident, it's indicative of a larger problem and police tell the Trib the number of students who might have viewed just this photo, "could easily number in the hundreds."
