Cap'n Jazz Reunion, Reissue Announced

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Feb 16, 2010 7:40PM

2010_02_capn_jazz.jpg Following a mini-reunion at The Empty Bottle a few weeks ago comes the news that Chicago emo* outfit Cap'n Jazz is joining the ranks of '90s indie band on the reunion trail. They've announced a show at Bottom Lounge on July 17, the same weekend the Pitchfork Music Festival is going on a few blocks away at Union Park so we wouldn't be surprised if Cap'n Jazz became peripherally involved with that.

The reunion show is preceded on June 15 by a vinyl re-issue of the band's anthology Analphabetapolothology including a number of bonus tracks of unreleased or rare material. (Though if you can't wait for the vinyl, you can grab the MP3 version of the expanded release right now.)

MP3: Cap'n Jazz "Oh, Messy Life"

*To clarify, Cap'n Jazz is Rites Of Spring as a role model emo, not mall-punk guyliner emo.
