Former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich is stretching his 15 minutes with an appearance on Celebrity Apprentice. Throughout his run, we'll be tracking the dumbest things our former governor spouts on national television.
On last night's episode, we watched Blago take photos, learned about his balloon fetish, and saw him lose his shit on the phone talking about his case. Oh, and he was mistaken for Donny Osmond. In the boardroom finale, project manager Sinbad selected Blago and Poison frontman Bret Michaels as the two members facing The Donald's firing with him but, in the end, the Rod was spared as Sinbad was sent packing.
- On lack of directions from Sinbad: "Someone like me, who I believe is part of what Teddy Roosevelt called 'the Fellowship of the Doers' likes to do something."
- On the phone to unknown person: "What did the lawyer say [pause] This guy was a close friend of mine....This lying piece of [bleep]...But he betrays me, he betrays me at the job and then he goes and does this? The lies are so outlandish that they're [bleep] almost laughable, aren't they?...But there's no tape that corroborates that right? Good, okay."
- On if he considers himself a celebrity: "I don't see me as a celebrity, I see me as someone who was the governor of a big state, who's been falsely accused of things he didn't do, I'll be vindicated when the truth comes out but in the meantime there's no denying the fact there's a cloud that sort of travels along with me."
- Exchange with passer-by: Passer-by: "You're a disgrace." Blago: "No, none of that's true. That's baloney." Passer-by: "Enjoy prison."
- On decorations for the challenge: "Balloons are good in politics, that's all I can say."
