After a three-week hiatus, we are excited to bring back Weekend Dance Party, especially since this week's pick is of such high quality.

Tonight, Matthew Dear and Gui Boratto will be at Spybar for $10 spinning an eclectic mix of tech, electro, IDM and whatever else they may have up their sleeve. Though we aren't crazy about Spybar, or most downtown clubs for that matter, every once in a while an exception has to be made. Tonight is that exception.

Matthew Dear was in town earlier this year at Smart Bar under his moniker Audion, a side project consisting of deep techno combined with an impressive array of visuals. When he plays as Dear, the music is less dark and a little more accessible. His partner-in-crime is Gui Boratto, a minimal badass whose last two albums have received considerable playtime from us. The night should be a nice, consistent forray into the world of techno.

Matthew Dear and Gui Boratto appear tonight, April 16, at Spybar, 646 North Franklin, $10 advance tickets, 21+
