Between Times Square being closed yesterday due to a pipe bomb that was found inside a vehicle and yesterday's United flight from Chicago to Philadelphia that contained a "suspicious message" found on board, it seems only logical that another terrorist scare would pop up to round out the weekend. This time, a suspicious package that was found on a Red Line train Saturday night--which resulted in all lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway and Red Line trains being shut down for two hours--ended up being a pipe that had been left behind.

Service was suspended between 87th and 95th street stations as a Level 1 HazMat team examined the suspicious package at the 95th Street station, said Fire Media Affairs Spokesman Joe Roccasalva to the Chicago Sun-Times. Train service was restored by 10 p.m. All lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway were also closed between 87th and 99th streets, but by 9:15 p.m. they were re-opened, Illinois State Police said.
