Stage Set For Stanley Cup Final: Blackhawks Versus Flyers

By Marcus Gilmer in News on May 25, 2010 2:00PM

It's all set now: the schedule and the Blackhawks' opponent for the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals. The Philadelphia Flyers clinched the NHL's Eastern Conference Championship last night, beating the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 and advancing four games to one. The Blackhawks played the Flyers only once this season, losing their March 13 game 3-2. At 41-35-6, the Flyers just barely made the playoffs as the number seven seed. The Flyers upset the number two seed New Jersey Devils four games to one in the first round and then had the historic comeback against the Boston Bruins in the conference semifinals: down three games to none, they battled back to force a game seven in which they found themselves trailing Boston 3-0 before storming back for a 4-3 win. After that, they made quick work of the Candiens. The Blackhawks, by virtue of their seeding and overall record, get home-ice advantage and seem to be the clear favorites heading in to the series. We'll break the match-up down later this week, but for now, we'll leave you with the full schedule. As usual, beware, those of you without cable: Versus will be broadcasting Games Three and Four of the series. No official radio stations have been listed but WGN Radio will be streaming all games at their website.
