Everything is Terrible! Summertime Funtime and Tour

Remember when the fun police suspended the Everything is Terrible YouTube account? YouTube got on EIT’s case because they were posting hysterical clips extracted from old VHS tapes, which just so happened to be copyrighted material. Well now, EIT is back in full force, and you’ll find plenty of viral video fun on their BargainBinofOblivion Channel. And yesterday, they just announced the tour dates for an all-new live show and a movie titled 2Everything2Terrible2: Tokyo Drift. The tour will kick off at the Music Box Theatre on July 1 before traveling all over these great United States.
Until then, EIT has some goings-ons to help ramp up your enthusiasm for the Quest for the Magick Krystal Tour. Join EIT at the Hungry Brain tonight for a summertime-themed "movie night." They’ll be showing seasonal EIT clips and looking to the audience for a terrible full-length feature recommendation. Puppet master Davey K. and Friends! will also be present. The event starts at 9 p.m. and is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Odd Obsession Video.
Whether or not you can make it tonight, you can always support EIT’s mission to amass the most gigantic collection ever of Jerry Maguire VHS tapes. Dimitri Simakis told NPR earlier this year that at least one copy of Jerry Maguire seems to be on the shelves of every thrift store, and its bright red box makes the tape easy to spot. So EIT has put people on Maguirewatch as they build a Jerry Maguire sanctuary to preserve as many of the tapes as possible. So far they’ve got 558 of them. They accept mail submissions or you can drop them off at Odd Obsession Video, EIT’s unofficial headquarters.
If you have yet to discover the joy that is EIT, check out their video after the jump.
