The defense wants the judge to require prosecutors to disclose investigatory methods used in a search warrant obtained in 2008 and what documents and witnesses the state plans to use during the trial. Yang's attorneys also want to inspect the state's physical evidence. These are in addition to motions filed last month seeking to suppress evidence collected while Yang was in police custody in January 2008 for three days without an attorney present, said defense attorney Jeffrey Lerner. Fellow defense attorney William Hedrick said he also plans to file two more motions on June 16 to suppress documents he asserts were unlawfully obtained.
Yang, who's been on suicide arrest, will face first-degree murder and intentional death of an unborn child charges when her trial starts on September 13.
