The Sox, as we mentioned yesterday, downed the Tigers in 11 innings yesterday to keep rolling while the Cubs had the day off. Both have busy weekends, though, as the Sox stay on the road and the Cubs stay at home. The Sox are in Baltimore tonight for a three-game set against the O's, sending John Danks to the hill in game one (6:05 p.m., CSN). The Soxx are now 9 games ahead of Detroit but only 1.5 games ahead of the Twins who they host next week. The Cubs stay right at home at Wrigley where they'll host the division-leading Cincinnati Reds for the weekend. Tom Gorzelanny gets the start this afternoon for the North Siders (1:20 p.m., CSN). As for the Cubs' playoff chances, our feelings are best expressed by former NFL coach Jim Mora.
