Hey, All. Chuck, here. Sorry that things here have been slow today. Marcus is taking a much-needed vacation from which he should be refreshed and ready to resume the helm of this good ship next week. In the meantime, we're going to (knockonwood) try to steer the site between the ditches until then. Remember, if there's a news story or tip you think we should be looking into, e-mail us. We'll be back bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow. Or hunger. there's no middle ground with us.

In the meantime, here are some links to grow on.

  • A bicyclist was killed last night riding the Dan Ryan Expressway. [Tribune]
  • A 12-year-old boy is in custody in suburban Gurnee for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old hearing impaired girl on a school bus. [Sun-Times]
  • Let the lobbying begin between Hawaii and Chicago over the location of the Barack Obama Presidential Library. Where will the birth certificate be displayed? [Crain's]
  • Whet Moser provides a thoughtful analysis of the Jay Mariotti schadenfreude. [Reader]
  • And one more plug for Marcus's look at how evacuees of Hurricane Katrina have rebuilt their lives in Chicago. Lisagor worthy, IMHO. [Chicagoist]

See y'all tomorrow.
