This November’s midterm election in Illinois will feature four candidates for U.S. Senate and five candidates for Governor. The Illinois State Board of Elections finalized the November 2nd ballot on Friday. The Board approved the Libertarian Party’s petition to add Mike Labno to the U.S. Senate election, bringing the list of candidates to four - with LeAlan Jones for the Illinois Green Party and Kirk and Giannoulias for the Republicans and Democrats respectively.
In addition to Pat Quinn and Bill Brady in the election for Governor, Rich Whitney will be the Green Party candidate, Lex Green of Bloomington will run for the Libertarian party and Scott Lee Cohen will run as an independent.
The board also rejected petitions from the Conservative Constitution Party based on objections from Republicans. Constitution Party Gubernatorial candidate Mike White says he’ll probably run as a write-in.
