Noah For 'Melo?

By Marcus Gilmer in News on Sep 9, 2010 6:40PM

2010_09_09_melonoah.jpg With the NBA preseason not that far away and the failure to land one of the Big 3 still giving just a slight sting to the Bulls as they prep a still pretty decent squad (yes, we're slowly coming around to the Boozer/Kover signings). Now, rumors are afoot they're circling another big-time player but if they're true, they might be ready to give up a piece of the future in return. The latest rumors have the Bulls zeroing in on Carmelo Anthony and while shipping off Luol Deng makes some sense, it seems the Bulls are also considering shipping away Joakim Noah as well since the Nuggets are reportedly hesitant to take on Deng and his contract, which still has four years left on it while 'Melo's expires at the end of this upcoming season; Noah becomes a restricted free agent in 2011. Of course, the league's collective bargaining agreement expires at the end of this upcoming season and most observers think a prolonged lockout is imminent so who knows what could happen? Still, as good as 'Melo is, with his contract expiring at the end of this season and no guarantee to re-sign him, we're not sure it's worth giving up Noah, part of the young core of the team.
