Gemini Club Debuts “Ghost” at One Night Stand

It’s been a year now since Chicago-based electro-pop act Gemini Club won over fans with its debut EP Future Tidings, and it’s been nearly as long since the act toured in support of the album and teased fans with a listen at its new, then-unrecorded single “Ghost.” Well, next Friday, Sept. 24, Gemini Club will finally deliver an official release of the track, featuring remixes from Hey Champ, Only Children, and Midnight Conspiracy, among others. And to celebrate, Metro’s scandalously-titled monthly dance party One Night Stand will host the release party, where the act will give away limited-edition copies of the new single.

Hosted by Moneypenny, the party will feature a live performance by Gemini Club (with the addition of Jonathon Marks of Hey Champ on drums) as well a strong lineup of supporting acts from right here in Chicago: Hey Champ (DJ Set), Only Children, Midnight Conspiracy, Team Bayside High, and Kid Color. The night’s festivities also include videos by Hey! Cliché! Video Club and a photo booth by Glitter Guts.

The party starts at 10 p.m., but show up early because the first 100 people get in for free. Guests 101 and after pay $10 at the door or $6 with student I.D.. But the risk-free option is, of course, to buy advance tickets, which are 2 for 1 - each ticket costs $7 and is good for 2 people. Check out this live video of “Ghost” from last summer, imagine the sweaty, fervent dance party that it will incite, and we’ll see you there.

One Night Stand’s “Ghost” Release Party is Friday, Sept. 24 at the Metro, 3730 N Clark, 10 p.m., $7 in advance, 18+
