Hendon In For Mayor: "I'm like the black Sarah Palin"

Claiming he'll reopen Meigs Field on Day One in office and bring a riverboat casino to the city, State Sen, Rickey Hendon has announced he's running for Mayor, adding yet another name to a growing list of candidates. The best part of his announcement, though, comes from Fox:

“I’m like the black Sarah Palin,” Hendon said, meaning he intends to use a grassroots effort to get elected. He said it’s about the people of the city, not who has the most money.

We're not sure which is more awesome: the quote or Fox's need to explain it.
