LAZ Parking Meters Being Stolen

Alright, people. We know full well that the city got hosed on the parking meter deal. But does that justify out and out stealing the pay and display boxes put up throughout the city by LAZ Parking?

Some folks think so. 20 of the 200-pound boxes have been stolen in recent weeks, with most of the thefts happening in Area 5. Both the Police Department and Chicago Parking Meters LLC have said that the thefts are being treated seriously and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Of course, we're still waiting for LAZ Parking to be prosecuted tor their larceny. In the meantime, if you find a spot that's missing a pay and display box, get dibs on those free parking spaces.
