Ozzie Would Consider Ryno For Staff

Just because the Cubs chose to hire Mike Quade as their new manager doesn't mean Cubs legend and minor league manager Ryne Sandberg won't be in a Chicago dugout come spring. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen stated recently on WSCR-AM that Ryno would make his short list to replace Joey Cora as bench coach should Cora land the Milwaukee Brewers manage job. When filling other recent vacancies on his staff, Guillen has considered the likes of Rene Lachemann, Jerry Royster and Pat Corrales.

While Ozzie has mentioned adding Sandberg to his staff, is the interest mutual? It's understandable that Ryno is disappointed that he was passed over for the Cubs job. But is that enough to send him into the rival dugout across town or is Guillen simply trying to goad Cubs fans yet again? Even if he were to join the Sox staff, we can't imagine it'd be a long stay before Ryno lands himself a managerial job in the major leagues.
