Arizona Voters OK Funding For New Cubs Spring Training Compound

2010_11_3_cubs.jpg Mesa, AZ voters yesterday voted to fund construction of a new spring training facility for the Cubs.

The city will provide up to $99 million to help build a new facility two miles southwest of Hohokam Park. The Cubs will finance everything else for the planned complex, which is slated to be part of a shopping and entertainment area.

"Wrigleyville West," anyone?
