Off-Duty Cop Killed on Southwest Side

Police Department officials are at a loss today as to why a 15-year veteran was killed off-duty last night. The identity of the officer is being withheld pending family notification and the officer apparently had few relations in the city.

The shooting occurred on the 2900 block of West Seipp around 6:30 p.m. last night. An anonymous call indicated that they heard shots fired at that time. From what was reported, the officer's gun was in the car with him and it appears that whoever did kill him was in the car with him.
