Today's Weather: Not What This Picture Promises

The day before Thanksgiving is always a huge travel day. Readers and fellow Chicagoist staffers take note: the National Weather Service is calling for some serious weather today. There's a "special weather statement" in effect until 8:15 a.m., but it could really be for all day. And they used all caps, so you know it's serious.

Digressing. if you're in town for Thanksgiving, expect a high of 38 degrees with a good chance of precipitation all day. More precipitation is likely tonight as the temperature drops only slightly and fog rolls in the area, hopefully making Bridgeport look very "Hound of the Baskervilles" in the process.

Most important, be careful when you travel today.
